Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulates Moldova on the 25th anniversary of its Independence
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated Moldova’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Galbur and all the people of Moldova, who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova on 27 August.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister noted that Moldova had made significant progress during these years.
“The Association Agreement is now fully in force providing more opportunities for the people and businesses in Moldova. Citizens of the Republic of Moldova can enjoy benefits of the visa-free travel to the EU,” said Linkevičius.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister stressed that Moldova must move forward on the reform path, particularly in the field of the fight against corruption.
“Lithuania has been and will remain a close friend and ally of the Republic of Moldova. As Moldova moves forward on the reform path, let me assure you that Lithuania stands ready to continue sharing its reform experience,” reads the congratulatory letter.
The Republic of Moldova declared its independence on 27 August 1991.
