Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulates Moldova on its Independence Day and on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations

On 27 August, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Andrei Galbur on the country’s national holiday – the Independence Day.

In his letter of congratulations, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister noted that 2017 marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Moldova. The head of Lithuania’s diplomacy expressed his belief that friendship and cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow. In addition, Linkevičius highlighted that Moldova was an important partner for Lithuania and for the European Union.

Lithuania and Moldova established their diplomatic relations on 8 July 1992.
