LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER CONGRATULATES LATVIA ON THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RESTORATION OF INDEPENDENCE
On 4 May, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis congratulated Latvia’s Foreign Minister Aivis Ronis on the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Latvia’s Independence.
“The Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia, proclaimed on May 4 twenty years ago, introduced the new era in the modern history of Latvia, marked with the inspiring challenges, hopeful expectations and encouraging achievements. Two decades ago the spirit of common struggle for freedom united the efforts of Latvian People‘s Front and Lithuanian Sąjūdis. Today I am pleased to acknowledge that during the years of the restored statehood the spirit of close and intense cooperation brought a success to Lithuania and Latvia in pursuing common goals,” the Minister wrote in his letter.
Minister A.Ažubalis expressed firm belief in further successful development of relations between Lithuania and Latvia.
