Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulates Kyrgyzstan on Independence Day
On 31 August, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev on the country’s Independence Day. Linkevičius also sent his wishes to the people of Kyrgyzstan for a joyful celebration, prosperity and unity.
“I believe that we will continue to deepen our bilateral economic, political and cultural cooperation that will open up many more opportunities for the people of our countries,” wrote Lithuania’s Foreign Minister.
In his letter of congratulations, Lithuania’s Foreign Minister also emphasized the importance of Kyrgyzstan’s cooperation with the European Union for the country’s economic prosperity, democratic reforms and security.
On 3 July 2017, Lithuania and Kyrgyzstan celebrated the 25th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. Kyrgyzstan declared its independence on 31 August 1991.
