Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulates Indonesia on its national holiday
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno L.P. Marsudi and the people of Indonesia on Indonesia’s Independence Day on 17 August.
Lithuania’s Foreign Minister wished this emerging economy country good luck and prosperity.
The head of Lithuania’s diplomacy welcomed the strengthening of bilateral diplomatic relations. Linkevičius believes that bilateral agreements signed in the framework of his official visit to Indonesia on 27-28 August 2015 should further strengthen business cooperation, as well as increase people-to-people contact.
According to Lithuania’s Foreign Minister, future highest-level visits of officials of the two countries would contribute to bilateral cooperation.
Lithuania and Indonesia established diplomatic relations on 15 July 1993. The Ambassador of Lithuania Egidijus Meilūnas, who resides in Tokyo, was accredited to Indonesia in May of this year.
