Lithuania’s Foreign Minister congratulates Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of the Statehood Day

On 25 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated the Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak on the occasion of the Statehood Day, wished well-being to the people of the country, and expressed support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European integration aspirations.

In the congratulations letter, Linkevičius commended the significant progress towards the EU membership that had been achieved over the previous year and called on the country’s political leaders to continue their efforts to implement all the necessary reforms.

“Let me take this opportunity to reiterate our strong support to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European perspective. Lithuania is ready to share its euro-integration experience with your country,” reads the Lithuanian Foreign Minister’s letter.

On 15 February 2016, Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted its application for membership of the EU. The European Commission is going to release an ‘Opinion’ on the country’s application, its readiness to become a candidate country for EU membership and to launch accession talks.
