LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER CONGRATULATED HIS NORWEGIAN COUNTERPART ON ASSUMING OFFICE
On 20 October, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas sent a congratulatory letter to Jonas Gahr Støre on assuming office as Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and invited him to pay a visit to Lithuania.
In his letter, Minister V.Ušackas expressed hope that an intensive dialogue between Lithuania and Norway would be successfully developed.
Minister J.Gahr Støre represents the Norwegian Labour Party. He was Norway’s foreign minister during the 2005-2009 term of the previous Government, led by Jens Stoltenberg.
On 14 September during Norway’s Parliamentary (Storting) Election, the Labour Party won the largest number (35.4%) of votes and its leader J.Stoltenberg remained the Prime Minister of Norway.
