LITHUANIA’S FOREIGN MINISTER CONGRATULATED HIS NEW UKRAINIAN COUNTERPART

During a telephone conversation on 15 March, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis congratulated Ukraine’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostyantyn Gryshchenko.

Minister A.Ažubalis stressed that the experience and knowledge of K.Gryshchenko would be of great avail when aiming to reach Ukraine’s foreign policy goals and would be used constructively in strengthening the relations between Ukraine and Lithuania. Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs invited K.Gryshchenko to visit Vilnius at an early date.

Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, who took office on 11 March, also invited Minister A.Ažubalis to pay a visit to Kyiv.

Prior to his appointment as the Minister, K.Gryshchenkoo served as Ukraine’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation. He had already been Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2003 to 2005. K.Gryshchenko paid visits to Lithuania in February 2004 and, in January 2005.
