Lithuania’s Foreign Minister bids farewell to the outgoing Chinese Ambassador

On 2 March, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius met with the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Lithuania Liu Zengwen and thanked him for his efforts and significant contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Lithuania and China.

Linkevičius stressed that China was a very important partner in Asia and that Lithuania aimed to develop increasingly close relations in trade, business, transport, higher education, student exchange, culture and other areas.

The head of Lithuania’s diplomacy reminded the Ambassador about the goal of promoting export of Lithuanian meat and dairy products to China. He also called on signing an Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications concerning Higher Education to promote student exchange as soon as possible.

Liu Zengwen is China’s eighth Ambassador to Lithuania. Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and China were established on 14 September 1991.
