Lithuania’s Foreign Minister and Israeli Ambassador discuss prospects of cooperation
On 12 February, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius received Israel’s new Ambassador to Lithuania Amir Maimon. Minister stressed that the opening of the Israeli Embassy in Vilnius would further strengthen the partnership between Lithuania and Israel and people-to-people contacts.
Successful economic relations, prospects of cooperation in new promising fields of cyber security, defence, homeland security, and energy, as well as opportunities for an exchange of best practices including agricultural technology with Israel were discussed during the meeting.
Israeli Ambassador A.Maimon presented his letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė on 4 February. The Israeli Embassy in Vilnius was opened on 26 January this year.
