LITHUANIA’S EU PRESIDENCY STRONGLY CONDEMNS TERRORIST ATTACK IN KENYA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania strongly condemns a deadly terror attack in Kenya this weekend and expresses condolences for lives lost.

At least 68 hostages were killed and 175 injured in the attack on the Westgate Shopping Centre in Kenya’s capital Nairobi on 21 September. The Islamist militant group al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry supports the fight against terrorism in all its forms and stresses that the perpetrators of the attack must be brought to justice and punished.
