Lithuania’s Diplomacy Star awarded to Nathalie Sylvie Drach-Temam, President of Sorbonne University

On 26 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, conferred the honorary award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania - Lithuania's Diplomacy Star - on Professor Nathalie Sylvie Drach-Temam, President of Sorbonne University in Paris, for strengthening Lithuania’s bilateral relations with France.

The Professor was awarded Lithuania’s Diplomacy Star for her concentrated efforts to strengthen cooperation between Lithuanian and French universities and implement scientific initiatives of significance for Lithuania.

Thanks to the Professor's efforts, a partnership was established between Vilnius and Sorbonne universities, and a contract was signed promoting cooperation in research and other areas of interest to the universities.

Nathalie Sylvie Drach-Temam, a Professor of mathematics and computer science, has become the first female President in the history of the Sorbonne University, which boasts an almost thousand-year-old tradition.

The “Star of Lithuania's Diplomacy” is an award given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania for promoting Lithuania abroad and fostering interstate relations. It has been awarded since 2010.
