LITHUANIA’S DESIGNATED FOREIGN MINISTER CONVEYED CONDOLENCES ON THE DEATH OF FORMER POLISH FOREIGN MINISTER

On 9 February, Lithuania’s designated Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis sent a letter to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, conveying condolences on the death of former Polish Foreign Minister Krzysztof Skubiszewski.

Lithuania values former Minister’s solid contribution to the Lithuanian-Polish relations, as the independent states of Lithuania and Poland re-established their diplomatic relations during K.Skubiszewski’s tenure.

“K.Skubiszewski is a historical figure that shaped Polish foreign policy after the fall of communism and fostered values based on democracy and freedom. He is one of the politicians, who helped Lithuania and Poland to return to the family of democratic states, leaving historical disagreements behind,” A.Ažubalis wrote in the letter.
