Lithuania’s Ambassador presents his letters of credence to Kyrgyz President

On 14 October, Lithuania’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Vytautas Naudužas presented his letters of credence to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev.

In meetings with Lithuania’s Ambassador, the President Atambayev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Erlan Abdyldaev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dinara Kemelova, the Minister of Transport and Communications Argynbek Malabayev, the Minister of Education Elvira Sariyeva, the Deputy Minister of Economy Kylychbek Dzhakypov highlighted the need to strengthen bilateral trade and economic, cultural, political relations between Lithuania and Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Abdyldayev reminded that he was looking forward to the visit of Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Linkevičius to Bishkek in 2016.

Naudužas presented Lithuania’s economic achievements, rising trends in bilateral trade and possible prospects for cooperation in various fields. He also requested Kyrgyzstan to support Lithuania as a candidate for election to the UNESCO Executive Board and Professor Dalia Leinartė, Lithuania’s candidate for election to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women.
