Lithuania’s Ambassador presents her letters of credence to President of China
On 14 December, the Ambassador of Lithuania in China Ina Marčiulionytė presented her letters of credence to the President of China Xi Jinping.
After the ceremony, the Ambassador and the President of China held a meeting, during which Marčiulionytė stressed that the next year marked the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and China. On this occasion, both countries plan to hold a lot of events and implement many projects, which will further enhance bilateral economic, commercial and cultural ties. The two sides also underlined new opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation through the implementation of China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative and projects between China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries.
Marčiulionytė is the 5th Ambassador of Lithuania, who resides in Beijing. Lithuania and China established diplomatic relations on 14 September 1991.
