LITHUANIA’S AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF SERBIA
On 25 March in Belgrade, Lithuania’s Ambassador Renatas Juška presented his credentials to President of Serbia Boris Tadić. The Ambassador permanently resides in Hungary. During the conversation that followed the solemn ceremony, Ambassador R.Juška voiced support to Serbia’s European integration aspirations and wished success for the Serbian President and the Government in implementing all the country’s reforms that are necessary for European integration.
Ambassador R.Juška also expressed concern that the Lithuanian companies ARVI and Alita, which had invested in Serbia a few years ago, were lately facing serious problems. The Ambassador called on the Serbian authorities to guarantee that the Lithuanian business would not be discriminated in this country.
In response, President B.Tadić assured the Ambassador that the Government of Serbia was making every effort to ensure a transparent investment climate in the country and invited responsible Lithuanian and Serbian institutions and business representatives to meet and discuss issues of interest.
It was agreed that the two countries had good cooperation possibilities and the only appropriate place for an open competition between Lithuania and Serbia was on the basketball field.
