On 4 April, the Ambassador of Lithuania to the United Arab Emirates Ramūnas Davidonis presented copies of his letters of credence to Abdullah Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Balouki, Assistant Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE.

Al Balouki welcomed Davidonis and wished him great success in strengthening the bilateral political and economic relationship between Lithuania and the UAE. The meeting also focused on issues of bilateral cooperation, including Lithuania's initiative to continue political and economic consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, to hold the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, and plans for exchanging high-level visits. Davidonis also expressed his concern about the situation in Ukraine.
