LITHUANIAN-UZBEK POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS IN VILNIUS
On 14 February, Undersecretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Laimonas Talat-Kelpša received the Uzbek delegation, led by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Ilhomjon Nematov.
During political consultations between Lithuania and Uzbekistan, bilateral cooperation in the areas of politics, security, trade and economy, also the perspectives of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union were discussed.
Representatives of both countries estimated the cooperation between the two countries very well, exchanged information on the security situation in the region of the Central Asia and Afghanistan, discussed the possibilities of implementation of joint projects in the areas of education, transport, and infrastructure.
During the visit in Vilnius, the Uzbek delegation also is meeting with the representatives from the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Economy and members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Seimas of Lithuania.
