On 18 March, Lithuanian State Secretary Neris Germanas met with his French counterpart Loic Hennekine. The officials discussed Lithuania’s integration into the EU and NATO and issues of bilateral relations.
At the meeting the State Secretaries also touched upon the ratification terms of the Lithuanian-French intergovernmental agreement on the Embassy building of Lithuania in Paris. Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis and his French counterpart Hubert Védrine signed the agreement on 13 December 2001.
The agreement is expected to be ratified in October 2002, when the newly elected French National Assembly will gather for its first session after Parliamentary elections to be held in June this year.
Lithuanian State Secretary Neris Germanas invited his colleague Loic Hennekine to visit Lithuania.
