LITHUANIAN-RUSSIAN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION'S MEETING POSTPONED

Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis who is on working visit in New York had a telephone conversation with Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin Russian co-Chairman of Lithuanian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission.

Igor Levitin informed Antanas Valionis that since the situation has become aggravated after Russian aircraft crash in Lithuania, this week’s meeting of Lithuanian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission is postponed.

The Head of Lithuanian diplomacy regretted this Russia’s decision taken at the moment when Lithuania seeks for benevolent cooperation with Russia in the investigation of the accident.

The ministers agreed to arrange the date of the Intergovernmental Commission’s meeting in the nearest time.
