Lithuanian-Norwegian relationship discussed in Vilnius
On 7 December in Vilnius, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Raimundas Karoblis met with a delegation led by the State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elsbeth Tronstad to discuss the bilateral relationship between Lithuania and Norway, the European Economic Area (EEA) and Norway Grants, energy projects, and topical issues related to migration and European security policies.
The meeting with the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas focused on the EU’s Eastern Partnership, relations with Russia, assistance to Ukraine and regional security issues.
Representatives of Lithuania and Norway welcomed enhanced bilateral cooperation. The two countries assess the security situation in the Baltic region similarly and jointly seek a solution.
The trade turnover between Lithuania and Norway increased by 39 percent during the first half of the year. Norway is among the five largest investors in Lithuania. For the third time, Norway performed the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission this year.
