LITHUANIAN MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE ATTACK ON THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE IN NIGERIA
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Lithuania strongly condemns the attack on the United Nations main office in Nigeria’s capital Abuja.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shares the grief of the families of those killed by the suicide attack and expresses concern for the condition of those wounded. While carrying out the mandate entrusted to them, the UN staff are working selflessly around the globe for the sake of those who need support and protection, and an attack against the United Nations and those who work under the UN flag to promote peace, stability, development, and human rights is even more reprehensible. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Lithuania stresses that the organizers and perpetrators of such despicable acts must be brought to justice and reiterates its call to further strengthen international efforts to combat all forms of terrorism.
