LITHUANIAN MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS RECEIVED FROM RUSSIA INFORMATION ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE CASE OF DISAPPEARANCE OF THE BUSINESSMAN

Commissioned by Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lithuanian Ambassador to the Russian Federation Rimantas Šidlauskas made a request to institutions of the Russian Federation for providing information on the investigation into the disappearance of businessman Stanislovas Jucius.

The Russian Federation confirmed that after Lithuanian citizen S.Jucius went missing on 18 April 2007, the Prosecutor’s office in Central district of Kaliningrad commenced a criminal case under the part 1 of Article 105 of the Penal Code of the Russian Federation on 20 April 2007.

On 26 April the criminal case was transmitted to the investigator of the Department for the Investigation of Cases of Special Importance in the Prosecutor’s office in the Kaliningrad region for further investigation.

As Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was informed by Russia today, currently all the necessary investigation actions are being taken in the case. The course of investigation as well as its results is supervised by the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.
