The Lithuanian Association in Ireland unites and represents all Lithuanians in Ireland. The Association is comprised of about 300 registered members. The voluntary registration was started, when the new web site of the association – www.alb.ie – was launched in August, 2007.
The association is composed of regional communities, the central board and the revision committee. Each registered member is attached to a regional community according to their place of residence in Ireland. Now the association is composed of six regional communities: Dublin, Dundalk, Galway, Cork, Killarney and Mayo.
One of the major activities is to work at Lithuanian schools. Almost all of the regional communities started to mobilise, when Lithuanians gathered to work, teach and study in the environment of the Lithuanian school. Today there are 4 Lithuanian schools: Dublin School 4 Vėjai (Four Winds), Cork School Banga (Wave), Dundalk School Kovo 11-os (11th of March) and Galway Lithuanian school.
