LITHUANIAN MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS CONGRATULATES PUNSK CHOREOGRAPHIC GATHERING ON ITS 60 ANNIVERSARY

Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis in his letter to  the choreographic gathering "Jotva" of Punsk Lithuanian Culture House celebrating its 60th anniversary  thanked for strengthening of ties with Lithuania and cherishing Lithuanian culture.

Lithuanian Foreign Ministry’s Department of Lithuanians Abroad  Director  Arvydas Daunoravičius  read the letter of congratulation at "Jotva"  anniversary  concert on 14 August  in Punsk.

"For your dedication, sincerity and love of homeland Lithuania you deservedly became an integral part of the granary of world Lithuanian folk culture, enhancers of the interrelationship and promoters of Lithuanians unity. "Jotva"  is not only a high-level artistic collective, but also home for formation of the human values ​​ and community aura", A.Ažubalis letter reads.

The Minister congratulated the members, leaders and supporters of the choreographic gathering on the creation of wealthy Jotva’s  history and thanked them for meaningful "one nation " concept.

"You prove your dedication to ancestral customs and traditions each time at the World Lithuanian Song and Dance festivals,  in Punsk and  Seinai region dear for us all and around the world",  the minister writes in the letter.

Lithuanian choreographic gathering “Jotva” was established in Poland in 1951. Now it unites 10 different age groups, 150 dancers in total.
