LITHUANIAN MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT DISCUSSED THE ISSUES OF BELARUS
On 8 April in Vilnius, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas and Member of the European Parliament, Chairman of the EP Delegation for the relations with Belarus Jacek Protasiewicz discussed the political situation in Belarus and the perspectives of the development of relations between the European Union and Belarus.
P.Vaitiekūnas and J.Protasiewicz also talked about the Schengen visa fees for the citizens of the European Union neighbour countries. The interlocutors agreed that it was necessary to search for ways of reducing Schengen visa fees for the ordinary citizens of Belarus and that they should have a possibility to travel cheaper to the European Union countries.
It was agreed that the European Parliament had to take the initiative to open up a broader political dialogue among the European Union countries to solve the issues concerning Belarus.
During the meeting the activity of the European Humanities University (EHU) in Vilnius was discussed.
