LITHUANIAN MFA CONDEMNS TERRORIST ATTACKS IN ISTANBUL

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Republic of Lithuania condemns the terrorist attacks against the British General Consulate and the headquarters of HSBC banking group in Istanbul, during which many civilians and official persons were killed or wounded. Lithuania extends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and expresses its belief that those responsible for the terrorist acts will be punished. The terrorist attacks are directed not just against one country, but against all the nations that treasure freedom, democracy and global security. The Lithuanian MFA will take all necessary measures to strengthen the security of the Lithuanian Embassy in Turkey. On 22 November, a special meeting to deal with these issues takes place at the Lithuanian MFA.
