LITHUANIAN – INDIAN FORUM WILL BE ESTABLISHED
During the conference “Lithuania and India: Mutually Beneficial Friendship” on 15 September at the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania, Lithuania’s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Šarūnas Adomavičius and Ambassador of the Republic of India to Lithuania Deepak Vohra will sign the founding declaration of the Lithuanian – Indian forum.
The Lithuanian – Indian forum will be established at the initiative of Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the aim to raise the interest of Lithuania’s institutions and public in economically booming India, also to find Lithuania’s circle of friends in India.
The forum will have a goal to unite all, who take interest in India, have professional relations with India, all who want to share their experience of communication with India, to learn more about this country, its culture and modern life, to search for new forms and areas of cooperation with India.
Speaker of the Seimas (Parliament) of Lithuania Irena Degutienė is the patron of the conference “Lithuania and India: Mutually Beneficial Friendship”. The conference is co-organized by the Group for Interparliamentary Relations with the Republic of India of Lithuania’s Seimas (Parliament), Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Centre of Oriental Studies of Vilnius University and the Indian – Baltic Chamber of Commerce.
The conference will review important issues related to India, relations between Lithuania and India, and opportunities for further cooperation in the areas of culture, science, youth and business.
Any natural or juridical person will be able to sign the founding declaration of the Lithuanian – Indian forum and to become members of the forum.
Members of the Lithuanian – Indian forum will be able to exchange information about their activities, projects, trips, sharing experiences and resources on the website http://www.lithuania-india.com/. The website will present important information about India to Lithuanians and about Lithuania to Hindus (in English).
