Lithuanian Honorary Consulate opens in South Korea

On 17 April, the Lithuanian Ambassador to China and South Korea Lina Antanavičienė took part in the opening of Lithuania’s new Honorary Consulate in Daegu, South Korea’s 4th largest city. Dr. Kwang Bum Park, who actively fosters our bilateral relations, will be the new Honorary Consul of Lithuania in South Korea.

At the opening ceremony, the Lithuanian Ambassador stressed the Honorary Consul’s contribution to the development of the Lithuania-South Korea relations in the fields of science, research and business.

K.Park heads the biggest dental hospital network named “MIR Network” in South Korea. A MIR dental hospital was opened in Lithuania in 2007. He has also established an Implantology Research Centre at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, actively contributes to strengthening bilateral student exchange.

In 2009, K.Park founded a company named “Švyturys Korea”, which imports “Švyturys” beer from Lithuania.

K.Park has received a number of technology innovation awards for efficient decisions about trade and science.

The Honorary Consul K.Park will also perform consular functions in the adjoining provinces of Gyeongsangnam and Gyeongsangbuk.
