LITHUANIAN FOREIGN VICE-MINISTER’S MEETING WITH CANADIAN OFFICIAL FOCUSES ON EASTERN PARTNERSHIP

On 27 November in Vilnius, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas met with the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada David Anderson. The meeting focused on Lithuania’s Presidency of the EU Council, important issues related to the Eastern Partnership programme, and the cooperation between Canada and Lithuania in various fields.

The officials hailed a political agreement on a Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, which the EU and Canada reached in October. It is expected that the agreement will be signed next year.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada D.Anderson arrived in Vilnius to take part in the Eastern Partnership Civil Society conference on 27 and 29 November. The Ambassador of Canada to Lithuania John Morrison also attended the meeting.
