Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister meets with representatives from Uganda’s Ministry of Finance, National Information Technology Authority
On 7 November, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mantvydas Bekešius met with the Deputy Secretary to the Treasury of the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development of Uganda Patrick Ochailap and the Director for e-Government Services at Uganda’s National Information Technology Authority Peter Kahiigi.
In the meeting, the officials discussed a strategic direction for the e-Government implementation. The guests were informed how to improve the provision of public services for both residents and business through the application of new information and communications technology.
Uganda’s representatives took a special interest in e-services provided by Lithuania Post, as well as in those in the fields of business register, tax return, social security, and other areas. The interlocutors agreed to continue to exchange best practices and to develop bilateral relations between Lithuania and Uganda.
Uganda’s delegation will also meet with representatives from the State Enterprise Centre of Registers, Lithuania Post and information technology companies.
