Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister meets with Botswana’s new Ambassador
On 8 April in Vilnius, the Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Neris Germanas met with Botswana’s new Ambassador to Lithuania Lameck Nthekela, who came to Lithuania to present his letters of credence to the President Dalia Grybauskaitė.
N.Germanas noted that Lithuania was ready to strengthen bilateral relations in fields such as trading, business, etc. The Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister drew the attention of Botswana’s Ambassador to Lithuania’s growing involvement in addressing global issues of peace and security, development cooperation and humanitarian activities in the African continent.
The meeting also discussed outcomes of the EU-Africa Summit, which took place in Brussels last week, the situation in Ukraine as well as other important international policy issues.
Lithuania and Botswana established diplomatic relations on 17 February 2004. Botswana’s second Ambassador to Lithuania resides in Stockholm.
