On 8 February, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas met with Slovenia’s Ambassador to Lithuania Robert Krmelj, who resides in Warsaw. The meeting discussed opportunities to enhance bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation, and other relevant issues.

“Slovenia and Lithuania are members of the EU and NATO that agree on various important foreign policy issues and have recently marked the 25th anniversary of their diplomatic relations,” said Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister. “Hopefully, the bilateral relations between our two countries will continue to expand even more, as Slovenia’s Honorary Consulate opened in Vilnius this year. Planned bilateral visits and consultations will also help deepen our relationship.”

Both sides noted that it was important to look for new areas of and opportunities for economic cooperation, also to aim to further exploit the potential of trade and tourism.

Lithuania and Slovenia established their diplomatic relations on 22 November 1991.
