LITHUANIAN FOREIGN VICE-MINISTER AND NATO ASSISTANT SECRETARY GENERAL DISCUSS PREPARATION FOR THE NATO SUMMIT IN CHICAGO

On 13 February, Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Asta Skaisgirytė Liauškienė and NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Investment Patrick Auroy, who is paying a visit to Lithuania, discussed the preparation for the NATO Summit in Chicago. At the meeting, Skaisgirytė Liauškienė stressed the importance of smart defence projects and the significance of the NATO air police mission in the Baltic States for regional security.

“Lithuania also seeks to contribute to the Alliance’s operational efficiency. Our Energy Security Centre will help NATO with innovative energy solutions for military applications and will also contribute to the enhancement of the Alliance’s operational efficiency,” the Vice-Minister said.

In Vilnius, the NATO’s official will also meet with Minister of National Defence Rasa Juknevičienė and will visit the Energy Security Centre.
