Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister and Germany’s high-ranking official discussed the situation in Ukraine, energy and security issues in the region

On 24 April, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Neris Germanas met with the new Chairman of the German Bundestag’s Parliamentary Friendship Group for Relations with the Baltic States Alois Karl, who is visiting Vilnius.

The meeting discussed the situation in Ukraine, the EU’s response to Russia’s actions, energy and security issues in the region.

N.Germanas stressed that Germany was among Lithuania’s most important partners in the European Union and NATO. The cooperation between the two countries is particularly intense in the context of events in Ukraine and risks to European stability raised by Russia.
