LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY’S STATEMENT ON ATTACK IN PAKISTAN

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania strongly condemns a suicide attack on 22 September in Pakistan and calls on the Pakistani Government to take urgent action to ensure the protection of ethnic and religious minorities in the country, as well as their right to freely profess and practice their religion.
We wish to express our deepest condolences to families and friends affected by this tragic event. We hope that the Government of Pakistan will ensure the protection of minorities and attacks like that will not happen again.
On 22 September, the suicide attack on the All Saints Church in Peshawar, Pakistan, killed about 80 people. Taliban claims responsibility for the attack.
