Lithuanian Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis greeted the results of the Czech EU referendum of 13-14 June, showing that the country’s population approved its membership in the European Union.
"We congratulate the Czech Republic on completing successfully an important procedure on the way towards joining the European Union. The Czech referendum is the seventh among the candidates seeking accession in the organisation that unites free and prosperous European countries. The success of the referendum shows the people’s willpower regarding their country’s future and together with the previous referenda makes a good example to the EU invitees that will run referenda later this year," Minister Valionis said.
