Lithuanian Foreign Minister to visit Ukraine
On 28-29 May, the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius and the delegation accompanying him will be paying a working visit to the Ukrainian cities of Odessa and Kyiv.
In Odessa, L.Linkevičius is meeting with the Governor of the region and other officials. At the I.I.Mechnikov National University, he will take part in a discussion on the European future of Ukraine with students and lecturers. The Lithuanian Foreign Minister will also discuss results of Ukraine’s presidential election and other issues.
In Kyiv, L.Linkevičius will meet with the Acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov, President-elect of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Ukraine’s interim Foreign Minister Andrii Deshchytsa and members of political parties.
The meetings will focus on the restoration of peace and security in Ukraine, the signature of the remaining sections of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, as well as the possibility to share Lithuania’s experience of European integration with Ukraine.
