LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER SPOKE WITH THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE

On 28 February, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis, who chairs the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, spoke with CoE Secretary General Walter Schwimmer on the phone.
Minister Antanas Valionis and CoE Secretary General Walter Schwimmer discussed the situation in Moldova and the role of the Council of Europe in finding the solution to the problems of this country. The officials considered the prospects of CoE membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the preparation for the session of CoE Committee of Ministers to be held on 2-3 May this year.
Chairman of CoE Committee of Ministers Antanas Valionis will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina in the middle of March. He also plans a visit to the Yugoslav Federal Republic.
