LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER RECEIVES RUSSIA’S NEW AMBASSADOR TO LITHUANIA
On 20 December, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the new Russian Ambassador to Lithuania Alexander Udaltsov to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation between the European Union and Russia. “In order to push forward mutually beneficial cooperation, it is necessary to comply with international agreements as well as to base our neighbourly relations on the principle of equivalence and mutual respect,” L.Linkevičius said at the meeting.
Russia’s new Ambassador presented his letters of credence to the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė on 12 December. A.Udaltsov succeeded the former Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Lithuania Vladimir Chkhikvadze.
