LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS WITH TURKISH AND UK REPRESENTATIVES IN LITHUANIA

On 21 November, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis met with Turkish Ambassador in Lithuania Ali Nazim Belger and UK chargé d’affaires Brian Davidson. During the meetings, Minister Valionis condemned the terrorist attacks against peaceful citizens of Istanbul and extended his deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed and wounded. The Minister stated that this terrorist act was directed not just against one country, but against all the nations that stand up for freedom, democracy and global security. At the meetings, Minister Valionis also handed over his letters to the Turkish and UK Foreign Ministers, expressing condolences to the Turkish and British people due to the terrorist attacks in Istanbul. “Terrorism denies common democratic values and principles, devalues human life, thus consistent international cooperation is needed to fight it. Lithuania will continue to participate in the international community’s fight against international terrorism,” the Lithuanian Foreign Minister underlines in his letters of condolence.
