LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER: IT IS NECESSARY TO STRENGTHEN EU POLICY TOWARDS EASTERN NEIGHBOURHOOD
On 25 August Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas who continued his visit to Norway took part in the annual meeting of Foreign Ministers of Nordic and Baltic States (NB8) and traditionally discussed topical issues of international politics.
Talking about priorities of Finland’s Presidency of the EU Minister Vaitiekūnas stressed that it is necessary to strengthen EU policy towards Eastern neighbourhood.
The head of Lithuanian diplomacy added that energy dialogue with Russia is important, but it should be held in the context of EU-Russia relations.
Talking about Ukraine Lithuanian Foreign Minister proposed to give full support to Ukrainian authorities and their efforts on the way of Euro-Atlantic integration.
