LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER IS TO ATTEND THE MEETING OF BALTIC AND GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTERS

On 24 August at the annual meeting of Baltic and German foreign ministers in Germany, the island of Rügen, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis is to take part in discussions on current issues of the European Union, the strengthening of energy security in the Baltic States, relations with Russia and the policy of the Eastern Partnership.

At the meeting, Minister A.Ažubalis together with the Latvian and Estonian Foreign Ministers Girts Valdis Kristovskis and Urmas Paet, and Minister of State of the German Federal Foreign Office Cornelia Pieper will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations of the Baltic countries and Germany.

The Ministers will discuss also other topical EU issues: efforts to ensure financial stability of heavily indebted countries and priorities of the Financial Perspectives 2014-2020.

Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) A.Ažubalis is going to present the tasks that the organization is currently dealing with.
