LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER INVITES LITHUANIAN AMERICANS TO CREATE LITHUANIA’S FUTURE TOGETHER
On 13 February, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis started his visit to the U.S. and met with the local Lithuanian community in Washington, D.C.Minister A.Ažubalis congratulated his compatriots living in the U.S. on the occasion of the Day of Re-establishment of the State of Lithuania and thanked for their support to the efforts of strengthening Lithuania’s statehood.
“For many years, the Lithuanian-American community has been spreading the truth in the world about occupied, but not broken down, dignified, great people and the state. Your dedication, faith, perseverance and support for the freedom fighters in Lithuania did not allow the dust to cover the case of Lithuania’s freedom. It is here - in the heart of the U.S. political life – that Lithuanian Americans and our friends carried out people’s diplomacy campaigns in support of the fight for Lithuania’s freedom and independence,” head of Lithuania’s diplomacy said.The Minister also invited Lithuanian Americans to take part in the 15th World Lithuanian Symposium on Arts and Sciences and in the Lithuanian World Economic Forum that will be held in Vilnius and Kaunas this July.
“Your knowledge, energy and experience are extremely necessary for the creation of Lithuania’s future,” Minister A.Ažubalis said.
Before the meeting, the Minister attended Holy Mass at St. Matthew’s Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
