LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER HIGHLIGHTS ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT OF POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC RELATIONS BETWEEN LITHUANIA AND ISRAEL
On 22 November at the meeting with Israeli Ambassador to Lithuania Hagit Ben-Yaakov, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis highlighted active development of Lithuania-Israel bilateral political and economic relations in 2011 and efforts of both countries to create a dynamic and positive bilateral agenda.
In 2012, Lithuania and Israel will celebrate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations. On this occasion, A.Ažubalis was invited to visit Israel.The meeting also discussed the Middle East peace process and Israel-Iran relations.
H.Ben-Yaakov is the sixth Israeli Ambassador to Lithuania. H.Ben-Yaakov, 43, resides in Riga. Prior to this appointment she worked as a political adviser to the Israeli Minister for Foreign Affairs.
