Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis extended his deepest condolences and expressed his wholehearted sympathy to the family and colleagues of Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh, who died unexpectedly on 11 September.
“I personally feel profound grief and sense of loss of dear friend, competent colleague, outstanding politician, loving mother and wife,” the Minister’s telegram says.
Minister Lindh, 46, died in early morning after a long-running operation. Mrs. Anna Lindh became the Minister of Foreign Affairs in 1998. In the end of June 2003 she visited Lithuania.
