LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER EXPRESSES HIS CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING AWAY OF MARGARET THATCHER

On 11 April, the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius signed a book of condolence for the death of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher at the Embassy of the United Kingdom. The Foreign Minister wrote: “We will always remember her as a firm and responsible leader of the United Kingdom, whose constant efforts were aimed at changing her own country and the world for the better. Margaret Thatcher’s determined stance on freedom and democracy as well as her strong focus on Euro-Atlantic cooperation have significantly contributed to the liberation of many nations, including Lithuania.”
