LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES OVER THE TRAGIC TRAIN CRASH IN BUENOS AIRES

On 23 February, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis sent a letter expressing condolences to the Argentinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Héctor Marcos Timerman, the Government and the people of the country over the tragic train crash in Buenos Aires.

The Minister wrote: “On behalf of myself and the Government of Lithuania I would like to express sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and the people of Argentina. Lithuania shares the grief of the Argentinian people and hopes for the quick recovery of those injured in the accident. We stand together with the people of your country at the moment of a sad loss and sorrow.”

At least 50 people died more than 670 were injured after a train crashed into a barrier at Once station in Buenos Aires. The available data, between Lithuanian nationals are not affected.
