LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES OVER A TRAGIC ACCIDENT IN RIGA

On 22 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius sent a letter expressing his condolences to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs over a tragic accident in Riga, where many people were killed and injured after a supermarket’s roof collapsed.

“I was shocked by the news about the terrible accident in Riga leading to the tragic loss of people. Let me convey my deepest condolences and extend sincere sympathies to the Latvian people. Our strongest compassion goes to every family who lost a loved one,” the Minister’s letter reads.

The Minister also offered assistance and versatile support to Latvia in coping with the consequences of this tragic event.
