LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER EXPESSES CONDOLENCES OVER THE TRAGIC PLANE CRASH IN MOROCCO

On 27 July in Vilnius, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis sent a letter to Moroccan Foreign Minister Taieb Fassi Fihri, expressing condolences over a military plane crash that killed 80 people.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the people who lost their lives in the disaster,” reads the letter of the Lithuanian Foreign Minister.

The plane was used by the Royal Armed Forces in southern Morocco. It crashed into a mountain due to poor visibility and fog as the plane was descending at the airport of Guelmim.

This crash was the country’s worst aviation disaster in over the past decade.
